Exhilarating Experiences On Board and Ashore
The nature of expedition cruising with Silversea is such that you are immediately immersed into the destination whether on board, motoring about in a Zodiac craft or when solidly on terra firma.
DAYS AT SEA
Days at sea are filled iwth insightful presentations in the theatre that cover a range of intriguing topcs. Join the ornithologist on deck and learn to identify the seabirds that glide alongside the ship, or make your way to the Bridge to chat with the navigational officers. The marine biologist can ususally be found there too, searching the seas for signs of whales and dolphins.
Notable sightings are alwasy announced and can quickly empty the Theatre or Restaurant in an eager dash to the observation decks. Martini tastings, cooking demonstrations and photography tutorials are but a few of the special activities offered on days at sea. In the late afternon, settle in for a lively recap of the day's events and a briefing on tomorrow's anticipated destination.
UNSTRUCTURED BY DESIGN
Itineraries allow for moment-by-moment flexibility. Stay longer at sites of particular interest, or make slight detours whenever weather, nature or mere curiosity dictate. Your Expedition Leader will work closely with the Captain to ensure opportunities for adventure and exploration are the best possible, based on weather, wildlife activity and sea/ice conditions.
THE SOCIAL SCENE
Sustenance for all this excitement is vital, and dining can be as simple or as elegantly elaborate as ou prefer. Grab some breakfast on the run, meet up with a member of the Expedition Team and new freidns in the restaurant, or choose instead a quient meal in your suite or stateroom. Room service is alwasy an optoin and always complimentary. Weather permitting, lunch may be served al fresco on the aft deck of the Outdoor Grill. No early morning landings planned? Evening gatherings often linger like the midnight sun with an entertaining game of Liar's Club or a favorite nightcap and a request at the piano bar. Throughout your time on board, recommended attire is resort casual, with two semi-formal nights per voyage.
EXPLORING BY ZODIAC
Silversea Expeditions voyages feature inflatable Zodiac boats that allow for up-close explorations in places owtherwise inaccessible, such as shallow waters and narrow passages. Rugged, safe and sturdy, Zodiacs are easy to board wheather shipside or ashore, and are operated by specially qualified Expedition Team members. All guests will participate in a complete Zodiac familarisation session upon embarkation.
